I was fortunate enough to grow up having access to computers, reading materials and going to a high school that encouraged it's pupils to read more books, apply to varsity on time and what subjects work best with which degree. However, in my place of privilege, I still believe in the power of giving, whether it be your time, resources or skills, to empower those that dare to dream. Those that dare to, but are missing the tools to help them realize their dreams.

My hope is that every person be afforded the opportunity to have the same if not better access to information. Everyone has the ability to do great things in life, as long as they know what is needed of them to achieve these awesome things they want out of life.

The founder of DCF, a very good friend of mine, approached me 3 years back to help her bring about a change in our home town by giving learners access to information about university and also reading materials that will assist them throughout their high school years.

I do hope that we change many lives through this foundation and inspire more people to take a stand in sharing information and recognising how important education is in each individuals life.

Here is to doing great things together with DCF!

Rolivhuwa & Mary

I met the Chief Dreamer in the spring of 2013 when she came to our High School - Shayandima Secondary.

I had no idea that day that she would end up being my mentor and gaurdian angel.

On that day she asked us how exams were treating us, if we had been passing well and lastly how many of us had applied to university. Sadly no one in our grade 12 class had applied due to a lack of funds and other such issues.

She took Roli and I to her home and we started applying online (my first time seeing a laptop), she insisted we did the typing even though we did not know how to use it. To this day I am thankful for having met her that day as I am currently in my 2nd year of Medicine at Medunsa. It was a struggle getting here but with God's Grace and support from my mom I made this far.
