WHAT DCF OFFERS

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
1

LEADERSHIP TRAINING

Leadership training seminars will be held in the form of leadership dialogues and motivational/inspirational talks. These willl be kept at 2 sessions per term.

2

MENTORSHIP & ENTRPRENEURIAL WORKSHOPS

50 Unique learners will also be selected every second term to take part in the mentorship program together with entrepreneurial workshops.

DCF believes that high school mentoring will improve an individual's self-esteem. This will see learners take social responsibilities. The mentorship program will enhance their problem solving strategies and communication skills.

3

Companies and young professionals will be asked to volunteer their time towards giving learners guidance in the respective paths they wish to take.

YOUTH-LED DISCUSSIONS  AND CAREER GUIDANCE

For years now, many have argued in favour of student-centred life skills programs in schools.

Dream in Colour foundation believes that the presence of student-centred leadership & life skills programs will see more and more improved learner performances in schools, greater motivation towards learning among the pupils, and improved learning behavioural patterns, including greater respect between adults and young people.

Leadership Dialogues

Reader's Corner

LIFE SKILLS CENTER:

BUSINESS ACUMEN

Leadership starts with the right attitude, the psychological resilience to perservere in tough situations together with the ability to empower others.

Through Leadership dialogues and motivational talks, DCF hopes to groom these young learners into becoming leaders who will know how to make a difference.

Growing a "mobile" Garden (Agricultural activities)

“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow”

                       ~Aubrey Hepburn~

Life is a wonderful process of sowing and reaping. Gardening is a wonderful metaphor about everything DCF stands by. You will get what you put in.

Eating great food makes healthy hungry minds. This mobile garden will teach our young leaders stewardship, responsibilities and enjoying the fruits of their labour and we get to reduce our carbon foot-print in the process.

DCF believes that reading changes EVERYTHING! Our corner of books is dedicated to opening minds, building dreams, creating leaders and seeing them thrive.

“Today a reader, tomorrow a leader”

                          ~ Margaret Fuller ~

The reader's corner has been established to give the learners exposure to reading on a regular basis. This will allow them to increase their vocubulary, thereby increasing one's self confidence and boosting their self-esteem. Reading will encourage the learners to be articulate and well-spoken, tools that are of great help in any profession.

Teacher Development Workshops

The influence of a good teacher can never be erased. Even great teachers never stop learning. Our Teacher Development Workshops are provided with awareness that there is always something to learn and that teachable teachers make the best educators.

Courageous Conversations

Linda Lambert says “One good conversation can shift the direction of change forever…” Imagine what two conversations can achieve. We understand that it takes courage to open up and share – courageous conversations is designed to get our young leaders having conversation; conversations of change!

Courage is one of the keys to Great Leadership. Aristotle called courage the first virtue, because it makes all of the other virtues possible. In addition to being the most important human virtue, it is the most important business virtue, as well.

DCF believes every learner should go out into the working world with less fear and more courage,  This will help them deal with change appropriately and speak up more willingly.
